Apple TV+: What is it?
Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ – Apple did not want to miss out on the exploding streaming market and launched its own service in 2019, called Apple TV+. Instead of trying to impress with mass like the competition, Apple is taking a different approach: Apple is focusing on quality, not quantity, with its streaming service. This is not to say that Apple doesn’t have a few flops in its offering – however, many series and films have won numerous awards and prizes, such as the film Coda about young Ruby, the only one in her family who can hear. In 2021, the film became the first movie on a streaming service to win the Oscar for best film of the year.

Ted Lasso
American optimism meets British realism: In Ted Lasso, an American college football coach moves to tranquil England, where he is tasked with leading a British Premier League football club to victory. His unconventional training methods are not always well received by the fans, the players and the club management. The comedy with Jason Sudeikis received 40 Emmy nominations in its first two seasons.
The Morning Show
In The Morning Show, a popular morning show is rocked by a sexism scandal: popular co-host Mitch (Steve Carrell, The Office) slept with several women in the newsroom and was promptly fired. Looming over all this is the question of whether his hosting partner Alex (Jennifer Aniston, Friends) knew about the affairs and what the scandal is doing to Mitch’s life and the network.
Severance
In Severance, the work-life balance is perfected. Not in the sense of relaxed work and relaxed private life, but through a medical intervention in which some employees of the fictional biotech company Lumon have the memories of their work life and the memories of their private life surgically separated. What works at first glance quickly turns into the opposite. Severance is considered one of the best series of 2022.
A Planet Before Our Time (Prehistoric Kingdom)
Anyone watching A Planet Before Our Time will immediately hear a familiar voice. The docu-series is presented by none other than the legendary Sir David Attenborough. The six-part miniseries is based on the latest scientific findings and explores, among other things, the question of whether dinosaurs were really feathered or not. But the highlight of the series is definitely the CGI, which makes the dinosaurs appear almost lifelike, just as if they were still roaming among us today.
Mythic Quest
You can take a look at a fictional game studio in the comedy series Mythic Quest. The name stands for a popular MMORPG for which a new DLC is to be released at the beginning of the series. The real battles don’t take place in the game though, but behind the scenes. Studio boss, head of development, game designer, producer and head of monetisation – they all fight over the direction of the game. With the start of the corona pandemic, logistical and psychological problems also come into play.

Macbeth is based on the well-known tragedy of the same name by William Shakespeare – the film is directed by Joel Coen, who together with his brother has already produced numerous award-winning films such as Fargo or No Country For Old Men.
