Does the Samsung Galaxy S20 5G smartphone come standard?
Switzerland is one of the pioneers when it comes to expanding the 5G network. The question of which Samsung cell phone has 5G connectivity is all the more interesting for Swiss consumers.
Whether the smartphone has Samsung Galaxy S20 5G or not depends on the model variant. The S20 series consists of the S20 Ultra, S20 +, S20 FE and S20 models. On Samsung’s Swiss website, almost all models are available in a 5G version and in a version without a 5G modem. Only the S20 Ultra cannot be found on the Samsung website in the model variant without 5G. Nevertheless, from a global perspective, there is also a version of the S20 Ultra without 5G, but this slimmed-down model is not advertised by Samsung in Switzerland, but only in other countries – for example in India.
Is there a Samsung Galaxy S11 smartphone?
When Samsung presented the successor to the Galaxy S10 in 2019, many were confused. Because one could actually have expected that the new Samsung cell phone would be called Galaxy S11. But instead, Samsung introduced a new way of counting and simply called the S10 successor S20. Are you wondering why S20 and not S11 is the new model name?
The iPhone comparison of previous Apple smartphones also shows that the counting method had already changed in the past. The iPhone 8 was not followed by the iPhone 9, as would have been expected, but directly by the iPhone X, where X is the Roman numeral for 10. And Huawei had been counting in increments of ten in its P series since 2018. The Huawei P10 was not followed by the P11, but by the P20, which was then followed by the P30 and now the P40.
You could also say that Samsung is very trendy with its counting in increments of ten. It remains to be seen whether the successor to the Samsung Galaxy S20, the launch of which is expected in 2021, will be called the Samsung Galaxy S21 or the Samsung Galaxy S30. Continuing the counting method in steps of one would make sense, because the respective model name would then match the year of release for a new Samsung cell phone from the Galaxy S series.

Locate Samsung phone
If you want to locate your Samsung cell phone, you can use the “Samsung Dive” or “Find My Mobile” location function on compatible Galaxy models. However, you must have registered the Samsung smartphone beforehand using the location function, which requires a set up Samsung account.
The location of the smartphone via “Find My Mobile” even works if the device is not connected to the Internet, as long as it is not switched off and the “Offline Finding” function has been activated. You can also use the “Find My Mobile” website to remotely control your smartphone, block Samsung Pay access on the lost device and upload a backup copy of your data to the cloud. With a call function, devices in the vicinity will sound the ringtone at maximum volume for one minute so that you can hear where the device is.
