MTEL launched its commercial operations on January 1, 2016. The company is part of the MTEL Global Group, which is 59% owned by Telekom Srbija and 41% by m:tel Banja Luka.
In Switzerland, the company operates under the brand MTEL Switzerland, offering modern services in mobile communications and digital television. As a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), MTEL does not operate its own network in Switzerland but uses Salt’s network. This ensures very good coverage and stable data connections.
The company primarily focuses on people with family or business ties to the Balkans (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro) as well as users who frequently travel to or communicate with these countries.
All MTEL subscriptions include the “MTEL Zone.” This means that the included allowances (minutes, SMS, data volume) are valid not only in Switzerland and the EU but also in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Austria, Germany, and North Macedonia
